Dive into 3D printing with SUNY Potsdam’s resident specialist – Casey! Learn the basics of bringing 3D models to life using free online websites and software. Start with an idea, find or make a model, then let the printer do the rest! Participants will learn how to work with consumer-grade 3D printers, their accompanying software, and Tinkercad, a free, browser-based 3D modeling software. After working with Casey, you will be ready to submit projects to the Potsdam Public Library staff to be made using the new 3D-Printer. Be one of the first to utilize this new free resource! Bio: Casey DeJesus-Webb is a SUNY Potsdam Music Education graduate student who was the SUNY Potsdam Makerspace’s Manager for the past four years. He has now moved to being the staff supervisor for the Makerspace’s student employees. Beyond that, he has worked with 3D printers for the past six as a Makerspace Assistant and a hobbyist. He has worked on a large range of projects, from small product prototypes for business majors and conducting batons for music majors, to replacement motorcycle parts and full suits of 3D printed armor. He jumps at any chance to teach others about his favorite technology.
