The Downtown Santa Cruz Farmers Market is the largest and oldest market operated by the Santa Cruz Community Farmers Markets, established in 1990. Held every Wednesday year-round, it features nearly 100 vendors selling regional organic produce, pasture-raised meats, eggs, dairy, sustainably-harvested seafood, artisan-made goods, baked goods, and prepared foods. The market welcomes diverse food vendors offering international cuisine from multiple cultures. Local artists also showcase functional ceramics, tinctures, body products, and gourmet foods. The market is located in the heart of downtown Santa Cruz, one block off Pacific Avenue, in Lot 16 off Church Street and along the 800 block of Cedar Street. It offers EBT matching programs and accepts card payments via tokens. The community uses this as a regular gathering place with live music from busking artists.
