Join us for a day-long community celebration inspired by Animality: 100 Years of Photographs . Explore the exhibition, participate in hands-on art-making activities, enjoy special programs for all ages, and discover the many ways photography shapes how we understand and connect with the animal world. Community Day will also feature a special talk by Pryor Dodge, author of the recently published Ylla: The Birth of Modern Animal Photography and CCP Chief Curator Becky Senf from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. See further details about the talk here . This free event welcomes visitors of all ages and offers opportunities to engage with photography, creativity, and community throughout the day. Complete Schedule: 10 a.m.–noon | Live Painting & Puppy Meet-and-Greet Watch Kat Swan paint a portrait of a shelter pup available for adoption, and spend time with puppies from Pathways for Paws . 12:30–12:50 p.m. & 1:30–1:50 p.m. | The Crystal Cave Dance Performances Experience a recreation of The Crystal Cave , a work depicting animals in an environment untouched by humanity. Choreographed by Shelly Hawkins, the performances feature University of Arizona School of Dance graduate student Christina Paris Blue, incoming freshman Emma McCallister, and Jessica McGuire, who earned her BFA from the School of Dance in 2020. 2–3 p.m. | Pryor Dodge in Conversation with Becky Senf Join Pryor Dodge and Chief Curator Becky Senf for a special conversation in the auditorium. Throughout the Day | Drop-In Art Activities Get creative with art activities available throughout the day!
