The Autumn Leaves Festival is a three-day street festival held in the heart of downtown Mount Airy in mid-October, celebrating the fall season with a lively mix of handcrafted goods, food, and live music. Over 200 juried artisans and craftspeople line the streets, offering one-of-a-kind items including jewelry, pottery, woodwork, textiles, and accessories. Local civic and service organizations serve traditional foods such as ham biscuits, barbecue, collards, and cornbread. The event features multiple stages with old-time, bluegrass, and gospel music performances, as well as demonstrations by crafters showing skills passed down through generations. A Kidfest play area provides family entertainment. Thousands of visitors from across the country attend this nationally recognized event, which consistently ranks as a Top 20 Event in the Southeast. Free admission, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 12 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
