Learn the traditional art of repujado (embossed metalwork) with IDEAL PDX multidisciplinary artist Yathzi Turcot , whose work ranges from painting and photography to papier-mâché and digital media. Participants will create artwork inspired by Día de Muertos while exploring themes of memory, ancestry, and celebration. Born and raised in Actopan, Hidalgo, Mexico, Yathzi has lived in the Pacific Northwest since 1999, and believes her biggest work is as a teaching artist, aiming to inspire and share her Mexican roots and folklore.
