About this event
Are you a Cornell alumni in Minnesota looking to connect with fellow graduates through the love of reading? The Cornell Club of Minnesota’s Book Club offers the perfect opportunity to engage with like-minded alumni, explore diverse literary works, and build meaningful connections. We meet on the second Wednesday of each month (typically virtually), and this book club welcomes 4-6 (and hopefully more) alumni readers for stimulating discussions that bridge the gap between your Cornell memories and current interests. Here are our upcoming book selections: TUESDAY 10/13/26 at 7:30 p.m. Central: The Agitators by Dorothy Wickenden (2021; 384p; takes place in Auburn, NY, and southern Cayuga County) https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/40538731-the-agitators TUESDAY 11/10/26 at 7:30 p.m. Central: The Ride of Her Life: The True Story of a Woman, Her Horse, and Their Last-Chance Journey Across America by Elizabeth Letts (2021; 336p) https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/55333765-the-ride-of-her-life We also discussed (but did not finalize) various books about Cornell Alum (and fellow Clara Dickenson Hall resident) Ruth Bader Ginsburg, possibly including one of the following: Notorious RBG by Irin Carmon (https://www.amazon.com/Notorious-RBG-Times-Bader-Ginsburg/dp/0062415832) My Own Words by Ruth Bader Ginsburg (https://www.amazon.com/Own-Words-Ruth-Bader-Ginsburg/dp/1501145258) (We also discussed the RBG film On the Basis of Sex , though that is just a good film without a corresponding book: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OntheBasisofSex. ) Please e-mail Lucas Hjelle at lmh18@cornell.edu for more information. Enjoy the fall and keep up the great reading!
