About this event
Celebrate the joys of pet ownership with us this October! Furry family members can help us to reduce stress, improve mental health, and to move more. Join us for one or more of our fun and meaningful activities between October 5th and 11th: Cutest Pet Contest: Enter to win and/or cast votes for our Cutest Pet Contest! Submit a photo of your cat or dog to kwelch@graniteymca.org between now and October 4 to enter the contest. Anyone in the building during the week will be able to vote for their favorites. Categories will include cats, dogs, and other pets. Winning families will receive a pet care gift basket! Dog-Friendly Foliage Walk: Join us on Saturday, October 10 at 11:00 am for a dog-friendly foliage walk around the city. We’ll meet in front of the Downtown Y at 11:00 am. Daily Trivia: Challenge yourself with a daily trivia question related to pets. Coloring Pages: Create some fun art with our cat and dog coloring pages all week. Adoptable Pets: Check out photos of adoptable pets from our friends at Darbster Rescue all week, and collect tips from the professionals about how to keep our pet friends living healthy lives. Pet Collection Drive: We’ll also be collecting much needed items for Darbster Rescue throughout the week including: lightweight blankets, cat and dog treats for training, cute bandanas for photos, unscented laundry pods, bleach, trash bags, long leashes, and dog shampoo.
