“Hearth and Harvest" 18th century Harvest Fest at Herkimer Home

October 10-12th, 2026, 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. daily Join Herkimer Home throughout our closing weekend as we celebrate the colonial harvest! Walk our grounds as the seasons turn and the leaves start to fall as we demonstrate the many trades, skills, and activities associated with the 18th-century harvest, including food preservation, hearth cooking, and other preparations for the winter ahead. Our Palatine Agriculture program will be a central feature of the weekend’s festivities as guests learn about various tools of the trade, common vegetables, livestock, and skills of the 18th-century farmer. Additional programming helps bring the 18th-century Mohawk Valley to life, including colonial brewing, blacksmithing, Palatine foodways, and, of course, open-house mansion tours. To celebrate the season, you are also invited to take part in pumpkin bowling, colonial children’s toys and games, and a pumpkin carving station! As the leaves change and start to fall, come enjoy all that Fall has to offer at this year’s Harvest Fest at Herkimer Home. Don’t miss these activities and more throughout our closing weekend from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. each day, including Indigenous People’s Day! Programming is suitable for all ages, so bring the family and let’s celebrate Hearths and Harvests together. See you there! Herkimer Home State Historic Site is located at 200 State Route 169 in Little Falls, NY, and is owned and operated by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. We are open for tours seasonally from Memorial Day to Columbus Day, Wednesday through Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm.
