Looking for things to do with toddlers, preschoolers or young kids in DFW this fall? Thomas the Tank Engine is chugging into downtown Grapevine for two weekends of family fun during Day Out with Thomas: The Let’s Rock, Let’s Roll Tour. This popular Grapevine kids event includes a 25-minute interactive train ride with a talking Thomas the Tank Engine, live children’s entertainment, hands-on activities, lawn games and plenty of photo opportunities. It’s an especially fun outing for toddlers, preschoolers and young children who love trains and Thomas & Friends. Day Out with Thomas Event Details Dates: October 9–11 and October 16–18, 2026 Hours: 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. daily Location: Grapevine Vintage Railroad Address: 705 S. Main Street, Grapevine, TX 76051 Tickets: $26 per person for ages 1 and older, plus applicable fees Things for Kids to Do at Day Out with Thomas Families can enjoy a full day of train-themed activities and early childhood fun, including: A 25-minute interactive train ride with Thomas the Tank Engine Photo opportunities with Thomas A chance to meet Sir Topham Hatt Live magic shows, storytelling and puppet shows Hands-on activities in the Play Pod Thomas & Friends toys and temporary tattoos Music and movement activities in the Music Corner Toddler- and preschool-friendly lawn games Play tables, arts and crafts An event activity sheet and giveaway A pop-up shop with exclusive Thomas & Friends merchandise Food and drinks will also be available to purchase during the event. Is Day Out with Thomas Good for Toddlers and Preschoolers? Day Out with Thomas is designed as a family-friendly experience with activities that will particularly appeal to toddlers, preschoolers and early elementary-age children. Guests ages 1 and older need a ticket. Because families select a specific train departure time when purchasing tickets, plan your visit around your child’s nap, meal and rest schedule when possible. Guests should arrive approximately one hour before their scheduled train ride. Day Out with Thomas Tickets Tickets are $26 for each guest ages 1 and older. Service charges and additional fees may apply. Advance ticket purchases are encouraged because families must reserve a designated train departure time.
