Guest Artists: Kristin L. Tollefson Kristin Tollefson is an artist, educator, and dementia support group leader whose practice centers on personal adornment and the sensory experience of the body in the world. Her richly constructed jewelry, sculpture, and installations are made from industrial and natural materials that echo the Pacific Northwest landscape. Among Tollefson’s honors are Fulbright fellowships to Slovakia and Iceland, the Bainbridge Island Treasure Award, and a 2025-26 Tacoma Artist Initiative Project grant. Don’t miss out on getting a mini tour of TAM’s Studio Art Jewelry from Artist Kristin L. Tolleson. She will discuss pieces currently on display and afterwards help to inspire your own creativity with jewelry making in TAM Studio. Pay-What-You-Can This event uses a pay-what-you-can model so everyone can participate, regardless of financial circumstance. You decide the contribution that feels right for you—starting as low as $0. When reserving tickets, enter your preferred donation amount per ticket and select how many you’d like. What to Expect Light walking in gallery Sit-down art activity Wheelchair & walker accessible About Creative Aging Creative Aging (50+) is a free monthly program designed to inspire and connect. All materials are provided, and no prior art experience is necessary. Pre-registration is encouraged to help us prepare supplies. This program is free of charge and open to adults aged 50 and older. Each session offers enriching gallery conversations centered on current exhibitions, hands-on art workshops, and welcoming community time. Open to adults aged 50 and over, the program nurtures creativity, supports well-being, fosters meaningful friendships, and deepens personal connections to the Tacoma Art Museum’s collection and the vibrant work of regional artists. It is held once each month. This month’s Creative Aging is made possible by a 2025-26 Tacoma Artist Initiative Project (TAIP) grant that supports artists creating and sharing with their community.
