A Friends Author Series event with bestselling crime fiction author Walter Mosley, who will discuss his latest novel Hanging and Burning . In Mosley’s book, a dying gangster’s plea sends Joe King Oliver on a quest for a missing woman across America’s coasts, unraveling a dark and violent family history along the way . The conversation will be moderated by Greg Wands. Doors open at 5:45 p.m.; reception begins at 6 p.m. Book sale and signing by Elm Street Books. Ticket purchase and registration required. Tickets are $10 for Friends Members; $15 for the general public. Walter Mosley is one of the nation’s most celebrated writers. He is a recipient of the 2020 National Book Award Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters, named a Grand Master of the Mystery Writers of America, and honored with the Anisfield-Wolf, Grammy, PEN USA Lifetime Achievement, the Robert Kirsch, Edgar and NAACP Image awards. Mosley’s work has been translated into 25 languages and he’s published fiction and nonfiction in The New Yorker , Playboy , and The Nation . As an executive producer, he adapted his novel The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey for Apple TV+. and co-wrote the adaptation of his novel The Man in My Basement for Hulu.
