1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Fayette Senior Services (FSS) – Fayetteville location at The Life Enrichment Center, 4 Center Drive: Fresh from the farm means a whole lot more when you know what goes into growing it! Mike Cunningham, owner of Country Garden Farms, digs into the world of local and organic farming and what sets these growing practices apart from large-scale commercial farming. Get a behind-the-scenes look at how food makes its way from the field to your table and why the way it’s grown can make a difference. Mike will share helpful tips for spotting quality produce and choosing fruits and vegetables at their peak freshness. You may even pick up a few tricks for helping your produce stay fresh longer, giving you a greater appreciation for every delicious bite that comes from the farm.
