About this event

The Madison Night Market is an urban street festival celebrating local creative culture and entrepreneurship across downtown Madison. Featuring over 100 vendors each month, the market showcases handmade products, local art, artisan gifts, fresh produce, and gourmet foods alongside pop-up restaurants, food carts, and live music performances. The event takes over State Street, Capitol Square, and surrounding streets, integrating with existing brick-and-mortar retailers who extend their hours for the occasion. Held monthly from May through October (excluding July), each market highlights unique Madison cultural themes including AAPI Culture, Pride, UW Madison, Hispanic Heritage, and the Wisconsin Science Festival. The event is free and rain-or-shine, attracting significant foot traffic to downtown with record attendance exceeding 129,000 visitors in 2025. Vendors are curated by the Central Business Improvement District with preference given to local artisans and unique, creative items.
