About this event
Orchids in October returns to Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden for a weekend dedicated to one of the world’s most diverse plant families. Local orchid growers fill the Garden with a marketplace of vibrant, distinctive and unusual plants, with options for first-time buyers and longtime collectors alike. Growers and Fairchild experts are on hand to answer questions and share advice on orchid care. Beyond the marketplace, guests can explore the National Orchid Garden and learn about the Million Orchid Project, Fairchild’s urban conservation initiative that has reintroduced more than 700,000 native orchids across South Florida. Guests who buy orchids can leave their plants at a designated holding area while they continue through the Garden, including Wings of the Tropics, the Children’s Garden and the misty cloud forest. When: Saturday, Oct. 10 and Sunday, Oct. 11, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Where: Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, 10901 Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables, FL 33156 Admission: $27.95 for ages 12 and older, $20.95 for seniors and $14.95 for children ages 3-11; free for Fairchild members and children 2 and younger.
