About this event
Best Friends Girl – America’s Favorite Cars Experience brings a full five-piece tribute to The Cars’ catalog to the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center in Clarksburg, WV. The first synth line doesn’t recreate 1978 onstage– it hands the room back its own version: the car, the station, whoever was riding along. A third-party reviewer called the show “a full-bodied homage,” and that’s the spirit behind it– five musicians who’ve studied Ric Ocasek’s warmth and Elliot Easton’s swagger and play the catalog, from the 1978 debut through the Heartbeat City era, with real, evident love for the sound. It’s the sound that helped carry the tail end of 70s rock into the 80s, filling the room live for one night in Clarksburg.
