@ Miles for Smiles will host a 5K Run/Walk on October 25 at the Ridgewood Duck Pond , with proceeds benefiting Tom Coughlin’s Jay Fund , which supports families facing pediatric cancer. Founded by two Ramapo High School students, Miles for Smiles raised nearly $20,000 in 25 days this past June for the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation. This time, the goal is to raise $31,000 in 31 days in honor of the Jay Fund’s 31st anniversary and #31. In addition to the 5K, the event will feature family-friendly activities including trick-or-treating, pumpkin painting, snacks, and a chance to meet the organization’s goat mascots, Socks, Boots and Shenanigans. Community members can support the event by running, sponsoring, donating or volunteering.
