About this event
Join us for a restoration day at AFC’s Millard Canyon Preserve! Millard Canyon is an important sanctuary and corridor for animals, with a the year-round stream and dense native tree canopy that offers shade and protection. Held on the second Saturday of each month, restoration events are led by local resident and Meadows Fire Safe Council leader Bill Ramseyer. These workdays provide an opportunity to support habitat restoration and stewardship in the canyon while helping maintain it as a wildlife refuge. Our focus is on fire-fuel reduction, including cutting back invasive vegetation and reducing built-up dry material. If you have them, please bring tools such as weed whackers, pruners, loppers, or other hand tools suitable for cutting and clearing vegetation. Volunteers will meet at 9am at the hairpin turn on Canyon Crest Road in Altadena ( map ). Due to limited parking at the site, carpooling is encouraged. If you have any questions, please email our Program Director, Kyle Cavazos, at kylecavazos@arroyosfoothills.org Please register using the sign up below.
