About this event
South African writer Nadia Davids visits Bird in Hand as we highlight her exciting new novel, CAPE FEVER! Scholar and critic of South African literature Jeanne-Marie Jackson will join her in conversation. CAPE FEVER is a gothic psychological thriller set in the 1920s, where a young maid finds herself entangled with the spirits of a decaying manor and the secrets of its enigmatic owner. If you like Silvia Moreno-Garcia or Daphne du Maurier, this book could be an especially great match for you. Soraya Matas is an unforgettable narrator, whose story of love and grief is also a chilling exploration of class and the long reach of history. Join us to hear more! RSVP here! Order CAPE FEVER here!
