Songs of the Bible

Temple Israel Long Beach · Long Beach, CA
About this event
Join Rabbi Robin Foonberg , as we explore the connection between Shirat haYam, the Song of the Sea, and Shir haShirim, the Song of Songs. Our tradition is rich with song and poetry from the Bible. Many of these songs were sung by women, including Miriam the Prophetess and Deborah the Judge. How and why these songs were included and saved in our sacred texts demonstrates the power of Jewish music from ancient times to this day.
