Panelists Jack M. Martins Member Harris Beach Murtha Jack is a trusted legal and strategic advisor with an extensive history in the public and private sectors. Drawing on deep experience in corporate and transactional law, land use, zoning and complex commercial litigation, Jack counsels national and multinational corporations, real estate developers, municipalities, emerging companies and nonprofit organizations across a wide range of industries. A seasoned negotiator, Jack has structured, documented and closed sophisticated transactions involving cross-border mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, private equity, project finance and secured and unsecured lending. He advises clients launching or expanding operations in the United States, handling day-to-day corporate matters, as well as complex governance issues. His work also includes guiding clients through high-stakes contract disputes, municipal rezoning and complex litigation. As legal architect to numerous development initiatives – from transit oriented, multifamily and mixed-use projects to innovative redevelopment concepts – he brings practical insight to every engagement. In addition to his legal practice, Jack is an accomplished public servant. Re-elected in 2024 to his fifth term in the New York State Senate, he serves as ranking member of the Senate’s Housing, Construction and Community Development Committee and sits on committees spanning judiciary, health, corporations, authorities and procurement.
