Vermont Farmers Market is one of the state's largest and oldest farmers markets, operating year-round in Rutland. The summer market runs Saturdays 9 AM-2 PM from Mother's Day weekend through October at outdoor Depot Park in downtown Rutland. In winter, the market moves indoors to Vermont Farmers Food Center and operates Saturdays only from 10 AM-2 PM (Wednesday evening market has been discontinued). The market features over 60 vendors selling fresh produce, herbs, plants, local meats, artisan cheeses, baked goods, maple syrup, jams, wines, and handcrafted items including jewelry and textiles. Live music and prepared foods are regular attractions. The market accepts SNAP and EBT benefits. Vendors must produce at least 80 percent of their own inventory and be based in Vermont or within 30 miles of the state border. Annual membership fees and seasonal booth fees apply.
