About this event
Join NC State alum Jayden Samson ‘24 as she talks about her path from an aspiring game developer, and the mentors, experiences, and opportunities that helped turn a childhood passion into a career! Bio: Growing up in North Carolina, Jayden Sansom developed a passion for gaming and art, with Stardew Valley remaining one of her favorite games. She began her journey into game development in middle school through Kode With Klossy and Girls Make Games, where mentorship from women in the industry inspired her to pursue coding and game development. In high school, Jayden was a panelist at Cisco's 2019 Women of Impact Conference, participated in computing research, and went on to study computer science at NC State University. During college, she interned at PlayStation and worked at the NC State University Libraries, building tools that empowered others to create immersive experiences while improving workflows. After graduating, Jayden joined Epic Games as a Tools Programmer on Unreal Engine, where she continues to build tools that help developers create more efficiently. Inspired by the mentors who helped shape her career, Jayden is passionate about making the gaming and technology industries more accessible for women and future creators. Students are also encouraged to join Jayden for a Game Development from Scratch workshop before the event, at 2:30 pm.
