The Athens Farmers Market is a producers-only farmers market operating year-round on Saturdays from 9 AM to noon, with additional Wednesday markets April through November also from 9 AM to noon. Located at the Athens Community Center parking lot under solar panels, the market features approximately 60 vendors selling freshly harvested produce, meats, cheeses, baked goods, prepared foods, honey, maple syrup, and handcrafted items including jewelry, pottery, and artwork from local artisans. Rated one of the nation's best markets by Audubon Magazine, it serves a diverse community of farmers, students, and residents within a 150-mile radius of Athens. Vendors must grow or process their own agricultural products locally. Winter markets operate both indoors and outdoors December through March.
