About this event
The San Juan Island Farmers Market brings together the island's agricultural producers and local makers every Saturday morning from April through October at the Brickworks location in Friday Harbor. This weekly farmers market is a gathering place for both year-round island residents and visitors who arrive by ferry, looking to connect directly with the people who grow, raise, and make the products they're buying. The walkable location near the ferry terminal makes it easy for travelers to experience authentic island commerce without needing a car. You'll find a rotating selection of seasonal produce from San Juan Island farms throughout the market's six-month run. Spring and early summer bring leafy greens and early vegetables, while late summer and fall showcase stone fruits, berries, root vegetables, and storage crops. Beyond produce, the market consistently features artisan cheese makers who work with local milk, fresh shellfish from island waters, and value-added products like lavender items that reflect the region's agricultural character. Island craftspeople round out the vendor mix with handmade goods that often draw inspiration from the local landscape and community. The 10 AM to 1 PM Saturday morning window creates a relaxed pace that encourages browsing and conversation. This is a genuine working farmers market where vendors typically have direct connection to what they're selling, whether that's their own harvest, their own animals, or their own hands-on production. The Brickworks setting provides a established venue that hosts this market consistently through the season, giving vendors a reliable location and shoppers a predictable place to find quality island products.
