About this event
Set in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this weekly farmers market brings the community together on Thursday afternoons throughout the growing season. Located on Park Ave in Blowing Rock, NC, the market operates from 3 PM to 6 PM every Thursday from June through October, making it an accessible stop for both locals and visitors exploring the area. The timing works well for those finishing up their workday or looking to pick up fresh ingredients for dinner, and the fall months offer particularly beautiful mountain backdrop scenery. The Blowing Rock Farmers Market focuses on the staples that define a strong farmers market: fresh seasonal produce, baked goods, and handmade items. You'll typically find local farmers selling vegetables, fruits, and other farm products that reflect what's in season that week. Bakers bring bread, pastries, and other baked goods, while artisans offer handcrafted items ranging from preserves and crafts to other locally made products. This mix creates a vendor experience different from larger craft fairs or festivals, it's smaller in scale, community-oriented, and draws shoppers specifically looking for fresh local goods rather than impulse purchases. The market attracts a mix of year-round residents, seasonal visitors, and Blue Ridge Parkway tourists who make Blowing Rock a destination for outdoor recreation and scenic mountain drives. Many vendors find steady customer bases here, particularly those selling produce and baked goods. The outdoor setting and mountain town location appeal to shoppers with a focus on quality, local sourcing, and supporting small producers. If your product aligns with the farmers market audience and the seasonal rhythm of June through October, this is a market worth considering for regular weekly presence or rotating participation.
