About this event
Located at 497 Farmers Market Drive in Hillsville, this year-round farmers market serves as a consistent hub for Southwest Virginia's local food producers and artisans. Operating seven days a week from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM throughout the entire year, the Southwest Virginia Farmers' Market provides reliable access to fresh, locally-sourced goods in Carroll County. Unlike seasonal markets that operate only during harvest months, this weekly farmers market maintains consistent hours, making it a dependable destination for both regular shoppers and vendors looking to build a stable customer base. The market attracts a diverse range of vendors focused on food and produce, including farmers offering fresh vegetables and fruits, bakers selling breads and pastries, cheese makers, egg producers, herb growers, and flower vendors. This mix means shoppers find everything from seasonal produce to value-added products like baked goods and artisanal cheeses. Many vendors also bring handcrafted items, adding a craft component to what is primarily a food-focused market. The year-round operation means the inventory shifts with the seasons, offering early spring greens and herbs, summer's peak produce selection, fall root vegetables and preserves, and winter storage crops and prepared foods. The market accepts credit cards and participates in the Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (Senior FMNP), making it accessible to a wider range of shoppers and supporting seniors in accessing fresh, nutritious local food. For vendors, the consistent weekly schedule at a dedicated market location provides stability and predictability. Whether you produce seasonal crops, year-round staples, baked goods, or handcrafted food products, the Southwest Virginia Farmers' Market's extended hours and full-year operation offer opportunities to reach customers throughout every season in the Hillsville area.
