About this event
Kansas Grown Farmers Market Derby is a weekly farmers market running Saturdays from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM from May through late September at 611 N Mulberry Rd in Derby, Kansas. This is a seasonal market that captures the full growing cycle of the region, starting in spring and running through early fall when local produce is at its peak. The early morning start time appeals to shoppers looking to get the freshest picks before the day heats up, which is especially valuable during Kansas summers. The market brings together local growers and producers who sell a wide range of food and produce items. You'll find seasonal vegetables and fruits that reflect what's thriving in Sedgwick County each week, along with baked goods from local bakeries, locally-made cheese, fresh eggs from area farms, herbs both culinary and ornamental, and other value-added food products. Many vendors focus on organic and sustainably grown items, giving health-conscious shoppers options they're looking for. The variety means that over the course of the season, you'll see different items available depending on what's being harvested, so regular customers often return weekly to see what's new. The market accepts credit cards, which removes a barrier for shoppers who prefer not to carry cash. This setup makes the buying experience smoother and can increase transaction volume during peak season. Vendors at farmers markets like Kansas Grown typically develop relationships with their regular customers over the season, and the weekly format means you build a loyal base of people who plan their Saturday mornings around shopping here. The market draws both home cooks sourcing ingredients and people interested in supporting local agriculture in their community.
