About this event
Every Monday morning from September through the end of the year, local shoppers and visitors converge on 1848 Church Street in Appomattox for the Church + Main Market, a weekly farmers market that brings fresh seasonal produce and homemade goods directly to the community. Operating from 8:00 AM to noon, this market captures the heart of the harvest season and extends through the winter months, making it a reliable weekly destination for those seeking quality local food and farm products. The vendors at Church + Main Market typically offer a wide range of offerings that reflect both what's growing in Central Virginia and what local makers have crafted. You'll find seasonal vegetables and fresh produce from area farms, baked goods from home bakers, farm eggs from local chicken keepers, herbs both fresh and dried, raw honey from regional apiaries, and various other artisanal food items. Because this is a farmers market rather than a general craft fair, the focus stays on food and produce, though many vendors also bring complementary items like jams, sauces, or craft beverages that pair with their primary offerings. The early morning start time, before most people head to work or run errands, appeals to serious home cooks and meal planners who want first pick of the week's best produce. The weekly schedule means you can establish a routine and build relationships with your favorite vendors, learning what to expect seasonally and planning meals around what's freshest. The market accepts credit cards, making transactions convenient for both vendors and customers. Shopping at Church + Main Market supports local agriculture and food producers while giving your community a gathering place that celebrates the agricultural heritage of Appomattox County.
