About this event
Every Wednesday afternoon from May through October, the community gathers at Lions Park in Gays Mills for a weekly farmers market that brings together local growers and food producers. Located at the intersection of Main and Orin Streets, this Crawford County farmers market operates from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, making it accessible for both lunch-hour stops and early evening shopping. The market runs consistently from May 13 through October 14, giving vendors a solid summer and fall season to connect with regular customers. What you'll find at the Gays Mills Farmers Market reflects the agricultural richness of southwestern Wisconsin. Vendors showcase seasonal produce throughout the growing season, along with value-added products like jams, preserves, and honey that extend the harvest. Baked goods and fresh-cut flowers are regular offerings, and many vendors grow herbs and specialty vegetables that appeal to home cooks and serious gardeners alike. The mix changes week to week based on what's in season, so regular visitors discover something new to try each visit. This is a true farmers market experience where you're buying directly from the people who grew or made what you're purchasing. The market accepts multiple payment options including credit cards, making it convenient for shoppers without cash. Both WIC and Senior FMNP benefits are accepted, ensuring the market serves a broad range of community members. The afternoon timing and weekday schedule create a different energy than weekend markets, attracting shoppers who prefer a less crowded atmosphere and vendors looking to reach the mid-week customer base. For food vendors and producers, the Gays Mills Farmers Market offers a reliable weekly spot in a community that values local food throughout the growing season.
