About this event
Every Thursday evening from mid-June through late October, the community gathers at 720 Sheridan Ave in Cody for a farmers market that brings together local producers and food vendors. The Big Horn Basin Farmers Market Cody operates during the peak growing season, which means vendors are bringing in the freshest seasonal produce available from the surrounding Wyoming region. This is the time of year when local farms are harvesting their best vegetables, berries, and herbs, and the market becomes a hub where growers can connect directly with customers who want to know where their food comes from. You'll find a range of vendors selling the staples of what makes a farmers market tick: fresh vegetables and produce from local gardens, farm-fresh eggs, homemade baked goods, artisanal cheese, and fresh herbs. Many vendors also offer value-added products like jams, sauces, and prepared foods that use their own ingredients. If organic products are important to you, several vendors focus on organic farming practices, so you can shop according to your preferences. The Thursday evening timing, from 4:30 to 6:30 PM, works well for people picking up food after work or on their way to prepare dinner. As a farmers market rather than a craft fair or festival, the Big Horn Basin Farmers Market Cody prioritizes food producers and agricultural vendors, though some crafts and handmade items do appear as well. The accepting credit cards makes transactions convenient, whether you're buying a single bunch of herbs or stocking up for the week. For vendors looking to reach health-conscious customers who actively seek out local and seasonal foods, this weekly market provides consistent foot traffic throughout the summer and fall months in the Cody area.
