About this event
Held weekly on Friday afternoons from May through October, this farmers market brings the mountain community of Cumberland together around locally grown food and handmade goods. Located at 52 Baltimore St in Cumberland, MD, the market operates from 3 PM to 7 PM, making it accessible for vendors and shoppers who work traditional hours. The Friday evening timing means the market captures that sweet spot when people are winding down their workweek and looking to stock up on fresh produce for the weekend ahead. The vendors at this Western Maryland farmers market reflect the region's agricultural heritage and creative spirit. You'll find seasonal produce from nearby farms, taking advantage of the growing season that runs through the fall harvest. Baked goods are a staple, with vendors offering everything from artisan breads to pastries, pies, and other prepared foods. Alongside the food vendors, handmade goods vendors display their wares, including crafts and products made by local makers. This mix of categories means the market draws a diverse crowd: home cooks looking for fresh ingredients, people seeking unique gifts and homemade items, and neighbors simply enjoying the community gathering space. The Appalachian character of the area shapes what you'll see at the Cumberland Farmers Market. The produce reflects what grows well in this mountain landscape, and the artisan goods often carry the fingerprints of local tradition and craftsmanship. Shopping or selling at this market connects you to a community that values direct relationships between makers and buyers. Whether you're a vendor looking to reach customers who prefer to buy locally, or you're scouting for regular markets in Western Maryland, the Cumberland Farmers Market offers a weekly opportunity during the growing season to engage with a dedicated customer base in this historic mountain town.
