About this event
Located right at the Port of Brookings Harbor on Lower Harbor Road, this weekly farmers market brings together local growers and producers from Curry County and the surrounding southern Oregon region. Operating Saturday mornings from 9 AM to 1 PM throughout the growing season from May through October, the market captures the best of what the area's farmers can produce during these months. The harbor-side setting adds a distinctive character to the shopping experience, with vendors set up against the backdrop of working docks and coastal activity. You'll find the typical mix of farmers market staples here: fresh seasonal produce from local farms, seafood offerings that reflect the proximity to fishing operations, and other regional specialties. One notable draw is the availability of lily bulbs, a product associated with Oregon's nursery heritage and the specific growing conditions of this area. Beyond fresh goods, artisans from what locals call Oregon's "banana belt" region sell value-added products and crafts, taking advantage of the area's relatively mild microclimate. This mix means shoppers tend to include both locals seeking weekly produce and visitors exploring the southern Oregon coast. The May through October schedule aligns with the region's growing season, so vendor selection and product availability shift with the months. Early-season offerings give way to summer abundance and then fall harvests. Because it's a weekly market rather than a one-time event, regular vendors build relationships with repeat customers, and the rhythm of Saturday mornings becomes part of the local routine. For vendors, this consistency means predictable foot traffic and a chance to build a customer base throughout the season rather than relying on a single event date.
