About this event
If you grow produce, bake goods, or raise livestock in south-central Pennsylvania, the weekly farmers market on South Juliana Street in Bedford offers a reliable sales channel from late spring through mid-fall. Running Wednesday mornings from 9 AM to 1 PM, this recurring market draws regular shoppers looking for fresh, local food and farm products they can't find in conventional grocery stores. Bedford County residents and visitors come to this market expecting the backbone offerings: seasonal vegetables, fresh eggs, baked goods, cheese, flowers, and herbs. Because the market runs weekly from mid-May through late October, you'll see consistent customer traffic building as the growing season progresses. Spring brings early greens and starter plants; summer peaks with tomatoes, berries, and prepared foods; fall transitions to root vegetables, preserves, and winter storage crops. Regular vendor spots mean shoppers return knowing what to expect from their favorite producers week after week. The market's acceptance of SNAP/EBT benefits and credit cards makes it accessible to a broader customer base, which expands your potential sales. Many shoppers specifically seek out vendors who offer organic or sustainably grown products, so if that describes your operation, you'll find an interested audience here. The morning timing and mid-week slot attract both weekday morning shoppers and those planning their meals for the week ahead. For food and produce vendors based in the Bedford area, this farmers market provides steady weekly opportunity without the larger overhead of weekend festivals or seasonal pop-ups. The consistent schedule helps you plan production and build customer relationships through repeat visits.
