About this event
Running weekly from April through late October, this farmers market in Elkin brings together local growers and food producers who set up each Saturday morning in the heart of downtown. Located at 226 North Bridge Street, the Elkin Farmers Market serves as a gathering place for residents of Surry County looking for fresh, seasonal produce and homemade goods. The three-hour window from 9 AM to noon gives shoppers time to browse vendors' offerings before heading into their weekend, though serious early arrivals often find the best selection arrives with the market's opening bell. What you'll find here reflects the agricultural character of the region. Vegetable growers bring seasonal crops that change week to week, from spring greens and early berries through summer tomatoes, squash, and peppers, then fall's root vegetables and gourds. Beyond produce, vendors sell fresh eggs, herbs both culinary and medicinal, baked goods made in local kitchens, cut flowers, and a range of other farm-based products. Some vendors focus on organic farming practices, offering shoppers that option if it matters to their purchasing decisions. The market welcomes both conventional and value-added producers, so you might find honey, preserves, or other processed items alongside raw ingredients. The Elkin Farmers Market makes shopping accessible through multiple payment methods, accepting credit cards alongside WIC Cash and Senior FMNP benefits. This inclusion means the market serves a broad cross-section of the community, from budget-conscious shoppers to those seeking specific products like certified organic goods. If you're a vendor considering this location, you'll be reaching customers who actively choose to shop at farmers markets, understanding the value in direct relationships with growers and supporting local agriculture.
