About this event
Emporium's Cameron County Farmers Market brings together local growers, bakers, and artisans every other Saturday morning from June through October at 419 N Broad St. This bi-weekly gathering reflects the agricultural character of the region while serving as a genuine community hub during the warmer months. The market operates from 9 AM to noon, giving shoppers a predictable window to browse and vendors a focused time block to engage with customers who specifically seek out fresh, locally-sourced goods. The market draws a steady mix of home cooks looking for seasonal produce, bakers seeking quality ingredients, and residents interested in supporting local makers. You'll find vendors selling everything from freshly harvested vegetables and berries to homemade breads, jams, and baked goods that reflect the season. The craft vendors who participate typically offer handmade items that appeal to both practical shoppers and those seeking unique gifts. The smaller, intimate scale of a bi-weekly farmers market means vendors often develop genuine relationships with regular customers, creating a different feel than larger weekly markets in bigger towns. Located at the Emporium Volunteer Fire Company, the market benefits from a central, accessible location within the community. The seasonal June-through-October window captures peak local harvest time, when regional growers have the most abundant and varied offerings. Occasional live music and themed special days add variety to the experience throughout the season, keeping both vendors and shoppers engaged. This is the kind of market where people come to support their neighbors' businesses, source ingredients they know the origin of, and be part of a small-town tradition that emphasizes quality over volume.
