About this event
Year-round shopping in Foley brings together the flavors and crafts of coastal Alabama. The Coastal Alabama Farmers and Fishermens Market operates every Saturday morning from 9 AM to 2 PM, making it a reliable weekly destination for both serious home cooks and casual shoppers looking to support local producers. This farmers market combines the agricultural bounty of Baldwin County with the seafood heritage that defines the Gulf Coast region, creating a unique marketplace you won't find in inland areas. What sets this market apart is its blend of vendors. You'll find fresh Gulf seafood brought in by local fishermen alongside seasonal produce from regional farms. The variety extends to baked goods, jams, honey, and other value-added products made by Baldwin County artisans. Because the market runs year-round in Foley, the vendor mix shifts with the seasons. Winter brings hardy greens and root vegetables, while summer showcases the peak of tomatoes, berries, and other warm-weather crops. The consistent Saturday schedule means regular vendors build loyal customer bases, and shoppers develop familiar relationships with the people growing and catching their food. Farmers markets like this one attract a mix of demographics. Home cooks serious about sourcing ingredients come for the quality and freshness. Families visit for the weekly outing and the chance to teach kids where food comes from. Restaurants and caterers often source from vendors here for their menus. If you're a vendor considering participating, the year-round operation means you can build a sustainable presence without the pressure of seasonal-only markets. The morning hours work well for early risers, and the mix of agricultural and artisan products means there's room for complementary offerings that serve the same customer base seeking locally-made goods.
