About this event
Running year-round from April through December at Westowne Shopping Centre in Carbondale, this weekly farmers market brings together local producers who sell directly to the community every Saturday morning. The market operates from 8am to noon, giving early risers the best selection while the produce is at its peak freshness. As a producer-only market, everything you find here comes from vendors who grow, raise, or make their own products, which means you're getting items at their peak season and supporting people who know their goods intimately. The seasonal nature of the Farmers Market of Carbondale means the vendor offerings shift throughout the growing season. Spring brings greens and early vegetables, summer explodes with berries, tomatoes, and peak produce variety, and fall transitions into squashes, apples, and root vegetables that store well. Beyond fresh produce, you'll find complementary offerings like local meats from area ranchers, baked goods from home bakers, and handmade crafts. This mix makes the market appealing not just to produce-focused shoppers but also to people looking for prepared foods, honey, jams, and artisan items they can't find in conventional retail settings. Located at 1180 E Main Street, the Westowne Shopping Centre location makes the market easily accessible for Carbondale residents and Southern Illinois visitors. The consistent Saturday morning timing helps shoppers build the market into their weekly routine, whether they're stocking up on weekly produce needs or browsing for specialty items. If you're a vendor selling produce, value-added products, or complementary goods, a farmers market like this one connects you directly with customers who actively seek out local, seasonal food sources and support small producers.
