About this event
Floyd's Saturday morning farmers market runs weekly from May through November, drawing together local producers and shoppers in this charming Blue Ridge Mountain community. Located at 203 South Locust Street, the market operates from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM each Saturday, making it a reliable weekly destination for residents and visitors looking to connect directly with the people who grow and make their food. The market accepts both credit cards and SNAP/EBT benefits, ensuring access for all community members. You'll find a rotating selection of seasonal produce, baked goods, local cheese, fresh eggs, herbs, and flowers throughout the growing season. Many vendors specialize in organic products, appealing to shoppers seeking chemical-free options and supporting farming practices that prioritize soil health and sustainability. The mix typically includes conventional and value-added goods like jams, honey, and prepared foods alongside fresh vegetables and fruits. Crafts and handmade items round out the vendor offerings, giving the market a character that goes beyond basic produce shopping. The Floyd Farmers Market reflects the agricultural traditions and creative energy of Floyd County while serving the practical need for fresh, local food in the region. Spring through early winter is prime season for farmers markets in Virginia, and this weekly gathering becomes a social hub where customers build relationships with vendors and learn about what's in season. Whether you're a vendor looking to build a consistent customer base or testing your products at a welcoming market, the regular schedule and community-oriented atmosphere make Floyd Farmers Market a solid addition to a weekly or seasonal route.
