About this event
Running weekly from May through October on Saturday mornings, this farmers market brings the freshness of seasonal agriculture and artisan food products directly to the Chesterton community at 220 Broadway. The market operates during prime hours from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, giving shoppers plenty of time to browse while vendors are well-stocked and the weather is typically most pleasant. You'll find a diverse range of vendors here, with a strong emphasis on food and produce that changes with the seasons. Early summer brings leafy greens, berries, and fresh herbs, while fall showcases squashes, apples, root vegetables, and items perfect for preserving. Beyond fresh produce, the market regularly features baked goods from local bakers, artisan cheeses, cut flowers, and specialty food items. Many vendors emphasize organic and locally-grown products, which appeals to shoppers looking to support regional agriculture and know the source of their food. The mix of farmers, bakers, and small food producers creates a true community gathering rather than just a shopping destination. Farmers markets in Chesterton draw a mix of regular locals who plan their weekly meals around what's available, as well as visitors exploring the area's local food scene. The Saturday morning timing works well for weekend planning, and the covered location at 220 Broadway provides a stable venue throughout the season. Whether you're a vendor selling produce, baked goods, flowers, herbs, or value-added food products, this weekly market offers consistent foot traffic and a community that actively seeks out fresh, local offerings. The May-to-October season aligns with peak growing periods, making it an ideal market for anyone focusing on seasonal, farm-fresh products or artisan foods.
