October 9-18, 2026. About “The Velocity of Autumn” Alexandra, an 80-year-old artist, is locked in a battle with her family over where she’ll spend her remaining years. In her corner: a razor-sharp wit, volcanic passion, and a Brooklyn brownstone where she’s barricaded with enough Molotov cocktails to take out the entire block. Her children have a secret weapon of their own: estranged son Chris, who returns after 20 years to become the family’s unlikely mediator. But no sooner are the words “Hi, Mom” spoken than the emotional bombs begin to detonate. “The Velocity of Autumn” is a wickedly funny and deeply touching exploration of the fragility - and ferocity - of life. There are eight shows to choose from Friday, October 9, 2026 - Sunday, October 18, 2026. Director Susan Fletcher says, “The Velocity of Autumn shows us a mother and son who realize that the very essence of who they are—the good and the not-so-good—was shaped by one another. Audiences can expect to laugh, perhaps shed a tear, and leave with something to think about: a feeling, a memory, a question, or a renewed appreciation for the fragile, funny, complicated beauty of life.” Fletcher adds, “Actors Donna Wiggins and Sheridan Ward are at the top of their game in this two-person play you do not want to miss.” "The Velocity of Autumn" runs approximately 90 minutes without an intermission.
