About this event
Operating year-round at 301 W Main St in Carrboro, North Carolina, this weekly farmers market brings together local growers and makers in a community-focused setting. Saturday mornings and Wednesday afternoons create two distinct shopping rhythms, the larger Saturday market draws weekend crowds looking to stock up on fresh produce and baked goods, while the Wednesday evening sessions offer a more relaxed atmosphere for those planning midweek meals. Both days run within the Carrboro town center, making the market accessible to residents and visitors exploring the area. The market features vendors selling produce, baked goods, and handmade items sourced from within 50 miles of the Triangle region. You'll find seasonal vegetables and fruits from local farms, fresh breads and pastries from regional bakers, and crafted goods from area artisans. Because the market operates year-round, you can expect different offerings throughout the seasons, spring and summer bring abundant produce variety, while fall and winter feature storage crops, preserved goods, and an expanded selection of baked items and handmade crafts. The vendors typically include farmers running their own operations and artisans making products themselves, creating a direct relationship between makers and shoppers. The market atmosphere reflects Carrboro's character as a community-oriented town. Beyond shopping, the market hosts special events and activities throughout the year, including kids' activities that make visits family-friendly. The Saturday morning timeframe (9 AM - 12 PM) works well for weekend errands, while Wednesday afternoons (3 PM - 6 PM) offer convenience for those passing through on their way home from work or school. This consistent weekly schedule makes the Carrboro Farmers Market a reliable destination whether you're a regular seeking specific vendors or new to shopping at farmers markets and looking to explore local food and craft options.
