About this event
Arcata Plaza hosts a vibrant year-round farmers market every Saturday on the historic plaza at 8th and G Streets, drawing locals and visitors alike to the heart of Humboldt County. Operating rain or shine, this long-standing community gathering place showcases what the North Coast region does best: fresh, locally-grown produce and specialty items that reflect the area's unique agricultural character. Whether you're visiting during the abundant growing season from April through November or the quieter winter months when December through March bring different harvests, you'll find vendors selling seasonal vegetables, fruits, and herbs cultivated in the coastal Humboldt climate. The market's reputation for specialty mushrooms speaks to the region's particular growing conditions and the expertise of local cultivators who bring foraged and farm-grown varieties to the plaza weekly. Beyond fresh produce, the Arcata Plaza Farmers Market welcomes artisan vendors who complement the core agricultural offerings. You'll encounter prepared foods, baked goods, honey, preserves, and other value-added products made by local makers. The Saturday morning and early afternoon timing makes it an accessible stop for both weekenders and weekday shoppers, with adjusted hours reflecting the seasonal daylight throughout the year. The historic plaza setting creates a social atmosphere where customers linger, connecting with growers face-to-face and learning directly about farming practices and product origins. For farmers and producers seeking a stable, established venue with consistent weekend foot traffic in a community-oriented location, the Arcata Plaza Farmers Market offers year-round selling opportunity in one of Humboldt County's most recognizable downtown spaces.
