About this event
Held weekly on Tuesday afternoons from June through late October, this farmers market at 747 13th Street in Arcata brings together local producers and growers from Humboldt County. The three-hour window from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM makes it accessible for people stopping by after work or school, turning it into a natural gathering spot in the community. The market's focus on food and produce means you'll find vendors selling everything from just-picked vegetables and seasonal fruits to fresh eggs, local honey, and baked goods made from scratch. Many vendors emphasize organic and sustainably grown products, reflecting the values of the North Coast food community. This is a working farmers market, not a craft fair or festival, so expect a straightforward setup where producers sell directly what they grow or make. The regular vendors typically include local farms offering vegetables and berries, beekeepers with raw honey, bakers bringing fresh bread and pastries, and flower growers with seasonal bouquets and arrangements. The Tuesday afternoon timing catches people heading home from work, creating a steady flow of shoppers looking for quality ingredients for dinner or staples they want to source locally. The market welcomes SNAP and EBT customers, as well as participants in the WIC and Senior FMNP programs, making fresh, local food accessible across the community. For vendors, this means a customer base that values real food and direct relationships with the people growing it. The weekly schedule from early summer through late fall aligns with the Pacific Northwest growing season, so you'll see inventory shift from spring vegetables and early berries to fall crops and storage varieties as the market progresses.
